Caring for Animals
ANIMALS ARE THE SWEETEST THINGS
My love for animals started at a young age, however my passion for the welfare of animals started when I met Penelope - my beloved sausage dog, whom I just had to have when I passed her in a pet shop and was horrified to see she had been marked down like a last season frock!
I am a huge supporter of animal welfare organisations and work closely with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). I was thrilled to be asked to be their "superhero" and accepted on the proviso that I didn't have to wear red tights.
My cherished Penelope, who was my constant companion and a regular star of my catalogues, continues to be the mascot for my brand following her death in November 2005 and in this way she continues to live. I now have 2 more dogs, Elizabeth and Butch, which will never replace Penelope but do hold a special spot in my heart.
I am one of those mad animal people who can talk about pets for hours on end - love nothing more then waking up to a big lick on the cheek and believe 'dogs' truly are 'gods' spelt backwards!
I try to do what I can to raise money and awareness for the animal kingdom and although I have raised tens of thousands in Australia (not too long ago I donated $5000 as part of the Victorian Bushfire Appeal), I am constantly thinking of new ways to help all creatures great and small. Donations are always welcome at the RSPCA so visit www.rspca.org.au if you would like to do your bit for all the furry friends of the world.

CONNIE
Afghan
Meet Connie. As you might be able to tell, she loves things most, when they're in her mouth; shoes, food, hats, kids toys, you name it. She doesn't destroy them, just sucks them endlessly and sleeps with them near her at all times. When we see Connie with a new 'toy' in her mouth, it always seems to be too late to save so just let her keep her new found friend. It seems to mean more to her than us.
SAM
Dalmation
Sam the Dalmation is a puppy at heart. He loves to jump (especially on old ladies eeekkhh!) and grab a juicy lick of their face whilst in mid air. No matter how much we try to train him, he's like lightening and it all happens so quickly! He's also loves mirrors ? we're not sure if he's confused by his spotty face or just trying to talk to his new friend in the mirror, but he's extremely cute and we love him!
LILY
Chihuahua
While Chihuahua's were once known to roam in packs in Mexica and were 'apparently' able to bring down a full grown bull... our precious little Lily would shudder at such a thought! She is the biggest scardy cat and couldn't harm a fly. Much to her frustration, 'Potatoe' the cat is constantly trying to steal her bed, but scared little Lily just let's Potatoe do what he wants (how unusual for a cat!) and Lily gets um, the couch...
BILLY JEAN
Poodle
Bill-Jean was affectionately named after the famous female, American Tennis player, however our Bill-Jean doesn't quite have the same level of coordination. Her frisbee and ball catching skills are not quite, shall we say, up to scratch, which is mortifying to us because she's actually very smart but this makes her look dumb! But she is absolutely beautiful nonetheless and doesn't she know it!
BELLA
Cavoodle.
Who could ever get angry at that face! Bella loves to nibble on bones (inside!), go for walks and sleep on beds. She's the happiest when she sits on her mum's hip, just like a big, furry baby and she makes cute excited squeals when she sees her favourite people. Some might say she's spoilt but she's the light of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
